El Escondite is an ideal birdwatching destination, easily accessible and located near the department's main highway. It offers flat trails and low-impact hikes through regenerating ecosystems.
Allowing you to comfortably observe emblematic birds such as Yellow-billed Nunbird (Monasa flavirostris), White-chinned Jacamar (Galbula tombacea), Rufous-headed Woodpecker (Celeus spectabilis), Orange-eyed (Tolmomyias traylori), Large-headed Flatbill (Ramphotrigon megacephalum), Plum-throated Cotinga Cotinga maynana, and the Parrotlet (Touit huetii).
