OUR HISTORY

In the Colombian Amazon, El Escondite Nature Reserve is much more than a place; it's a dream come true.

It was born from the desire to bring life back to a territory that was once used for livestock farming and now thrives as a haven for biodiversity.

Every corner of our 130 hectares tells a story of regeneration: trees growing back, birds returning home, and an ecosystem that grows stronger with each new life that finds refuge here. We protect the rainforest not only because it's our home, but because we know that every tree, every river, and every species matters.

Our commitment is to offer a space where nature and people meet in harmony. We want our visitors to not only explore, but also connect with the essence of the jungle. From walking among giant trees to observing unique species, we seek to inspire admiration and respect for this ecosystem.

We are committed to responsible and regenerative tourism, creating transformative experiences. Every trail hiked and every sunrise heard amidst the songs of more than 390 bird species is an invitation to discover the magic of the Amazon and be a part of its preservation.

MISSION

Conserve the biodiversity of our Amazonian territory through forest protection, reforestation, and the sustainable management of our natural resources.

VISION

By 2025, we aspire to become one of the world's self-sustaining nature reserves, funding our conservation work through ecotourism, payment for environmental services, and environmental education.

Your Footprint, Our Hope for the Amazon

Every visitor who chooses to explore our trails and every person who supports our cause becomes part of this story. Together, we can ensure that future generations inherit a Living Amazon, resilient and full of hope.
